Battlefield Promotional Pen
Battlefield International arrived at the 2013 AUVSI Unmanned Systems trade show in Washington DC with what was arguably the most well received promotional hand out of the entire event. Our original goal was to hand out something produced on our equipment in house that would be usable by anyone while at the same time assist us in marketing our EnduroLink™ fuel coupler. We designed and produced a unique machined pen that utilized our actual EL01Y EnduroLink™ locking sleeve assembly to retract the ink cartridge.

To write with the pen, the locking mechanism at the top of the pen is depressed in a manner similar to any click-style pen function. To retract the ink cartridge the EL01Y sleeve must be pulled down in the direction of the writing end of the pen with the same motion used to disconnect our actual EnduroLink™; fuel coupler from the plug. The pen has a machined nickel plated brass clip that was designed for use only with thin fabric pockets to ensure the clip doesn’t get permanently bent. The Parker ink cartridge can be replaced when empty, or to change to different color ink simply by unthreading the pen tip where the ink is presented.

All of the pen components except for the ink cartridge and springs were machined on our in-house CNC equipment out of aircraft grade aluminum, and C360 Brass. We then sent out the aluminum and brass finished parts to receive EnduroLink™-grade surface treatment. After the surface treatment occurred, we utilized our Trotec fiber laser to mark our company logo onto the shaft, and bulls-eye on the clicker. The pens were then assembled with Loctite to prevent disassembly. We produced both right handed and left handed versions of the pen to ensure our logo reads “right side up” for all users.

We would like to offer this pen without cost or obligation to UAV, Land Systems and Marine engineering and purchasing staff. This pen cannot be purchased. If you would like your own Battlefield pen, please fill out this form (click here) before our limited supply is exhausted.
